Nathan Howie

Nathan joined the Danville Police Department in Danville, IL, in December of 1994 and retired in May of 2021 after almost 27 years of service.

He has 20 years in canine work, working with three dual-purpose patrol/narcotics canine teams and certifying in NAPWDA for all 20 years. He has been a NAPWDA Member since 2000.

Nathan was an FTO for 23 years and a member of the Danville Emergency Response Unit (SWAT) for 21 years.

Nathan is currently employed as Chief of Campus Safety at Danville Area Community College (hired in May of 2021). He is overseeing the College's transition to becoming a sworn law enforcement agency. 

Nathan is married to Michelle, and together they have a son, Cade, who is also a police officer for Danville.
